Beach Luxury in Thailand

Thailand is atop many honeymooner’s wish lists, with good reason. When it comes to beaches, Phuket gets all the fuss, but one of my favorite spots is just across the bay: Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love a Ritz-Carlton club floor; I’ve enjoyed them from NYC to Seoul. But this was my first time experiencing a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, their premier line of hotels. I flew into Phuket at night and did the two-hour drive to Krabi—well worth it to get this view of the arrival pavilion all decked out with candlelight, settingLearn more

Globetrotter: Brian Worley on Lanai

One of our favorite things to do is talk travel with our globe-trotting pals. Immediately after greeting, they take you by the spa for a special blessing, done with aromatic resin from the Copal tree, prized by the Mayan culture. It’s a wonderful way to shake off the outside world for your stay, and maybe book a treatment atLearn more

Just Back From: New Orleans

I recently returned to one of my favorite all-time cities, New Orleans. I went for a dear pal’s post-wedding crawfish boil. The bride and groom eloped to Barbados and even a year later, their wedding was still a great excuse to have 40 friends and family gather for crawfish and beer in the bride’s hometown. I’ve been to the city a lot over the years, and never get over how magical it is. But this time I made a new hotel discovery: Audubon Cottages, part of the New Orleans Hotel Collection. This collection of 19th-century cottages-turned-hotel got their name fromLearn more
