On this freezing week, we’re daydreaming about our recent stay at Caribbean Club, on Grand Cayman. Friends had been raving to us about this boutique hotel for years, so we couldn’t miss up the chance to stay there ourselves earlier this winter. Its small size and great service make it ideal for a destination wedding.

In a switch from traditional hotels, Caribbean Club has 37 condo-style apartments. Each one is decorated differently, and comes complete with full kitchen, dining table and cushy living room. They range in size from one to three bedrooms; most of the bedrooms are ensuite (ie, with its own bathroom), so they’re ideal for groups of friends as well as families.

All come with ocean-facing balcony; we were lucky enough to have one of the front units, where we could walk out our living room to the row of beach chairs waiting for us. This was our view every morning!

Caribbean Club sits on a gorgeous stretch of Seven Mile Beach, just down the beach from The Ritz-Carlton. We love The Ritz too, but Caribbean Club feels that much more private in contrast due to its small size. There’s also an oceanfront pool, and great dining on the outdoor patio at LUCA. A standout on an island known for great restaurants, their handmade tagliolini with lobster and lump crab was the favorite thing we ate all week.

We had friends staying in another unit so we tramped up the stairs for sunset cocktails, and they came in to raid our fridge during the day when they didn’t feel like going up to their room. The vibe is more friend’s luxe-but-comfy beach house than hotel, but with all the perks of a luxury hotel (concierge, beach service and maid service). We can only imagine how fun it would be to buy this place out for a wedding and have it all to yourself!
