For someone who travels as much as I do, you’d think I’d be a pro at it. But I’m not, and for that I primarily blame one thing: Shoes. I spend a lot of time in warm-weather locales and need shoes that are both comfortable and breathable (to stand up to humidity — and did I mention that I live in Florida?) as well as versatile, so I don’t have to pack a different pair for every occasion.
Which is why I love Brazilian shoe company Melissa. Remember those jelly shoes you loved and wore to death back in the day? This 25-year-old company makes them, only for adults, and in collaboration with designers like Jason Wu, Vivienne Westwood and Karl Lagerfeld. They also have loads of cute flats, which I prefer for travel.
These are my go-to summer shoes, called Sweet Dreams in the cheeriest shade of pink. Comfy enough to wear with capris as I’m touring hotel, and cute enough to bring out again at night with a dress.
Speaking of dresses, how great would it be to change into these glittery UltraGirl flats for dancing at your reception, or at a beachside ceremony to keep you from sinking into the sand? They’re done in conjunction with J. Maskrey, who’s amazing crystal accents and accessories have graced the runways of Alexander McQueen.

I also love these, called Trippy, done in conjunction with Jason Wu.

You can find them at stores across the USA, including Opening Ceremony and Saks Fifth Avenue, or buy them online at shopmelissa.com.
