Anyone who knows me knows how much I love hotels — the service, the style, the ease never gets old, no many how many I visit. But since a recent trip with a group of dear pals, I’ve been dreaming about a different kind of stay: bringing my people to sprawling villa where we can laze by the pool and explore the area, then recap our adventures over long, relaxed dinners at the dining table.
Which is why I’m drooling over La Bergerie, a six-bedroom estate in Provence near the Cote D’Azur. Check out this amazing foyer, and that’s just the beginning.

I love the pool for swimming and lounging by day, but it would also make an amazing event space at night decked out with strings of lights and maybe even a plexi covering that turned it into a dance floor.

And for celebrations, here’s another amazing aspect: gardens! How lovely to exchange I do’s or anniversary vow renewals by this lovely fountain. You getting the picture?

My other favorite part is this long dining table, set on the patio overlooking the gorgeous scenery of The Var. It seats 12 with no problem, and the food is bound to be as lovely, with a gourmet kitchen and private chef to handle the shopping and chopping.

As for our days, I’d set up a private driving tour of the gorgeous towns like hilltop Callian, stopping at vineyards to choose vintages to enjoy every evening. Working with a luxury villa company means you get the best of both worlds: the service of a five-star hotel and the relaxed vibe of home.
